Hampton Inn North Platte

Good for a night. It is a nice hotel, very clean and a helpful staff. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was the usual hotel breakfast but at least it was fresh. So if there was nothing wrong with it, why the 4 stars. Two reasons. First it's a bit expensive for what you get. And second, the décor is dated and the hotel needs an update. While I didn't see any damage or wear, the place just looked old. We travel a good deal and stay at either Hilton or Marriott properties. This location needs an update.

The room left a lot to be desired. The dresser or table that was in the room had nicks in it and scratches and looked like it needed to be replaced. My own mother wouldn’t have that kind of furniture in her house. Also, the shower barely had a trickle and the water pressure was a joke. If you pay $117 a night for a room you should at least have a decent shower. Come on Hampton. This is ridiculous!! Very unsatisfied. Don’t blame your low level staff they’re just doing their jobs. Blame upper management for being too cheap to upgrade your rooms.

My husband and I stayed here on December 22nd. We were on a long trip and needed a room for the night. The room was clean and comfortable. The next morning, we went down for breakfast. It was so delicious and there were so many options, we kept talking about it for days. The waffle station had plain and chocolate waffles. There were strawberries, chocolate chips, sliced almonds, and whipped cream. The eggs and kielbasa? Were great. They had fruit and cereals, hard-boiled eggs, juices, and coffee. I especially enjoyed that there is plenty of seating and not a small area like a lot of places. We would stay again.

My girlfriend and I look for Hampton Inns every time we stop. We prefer them over other hotels because their rooms and beds are comfortable, their customer service is outstanding, and their locations are easily accessible from the freeway, not to mention that their prices are favorable. This Hampton Inn in North Platte, Ne. however, gets an A for customer service, an A for location, but they only rate a D- for rooms. Their furniture is old and marred. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room, and the beds were older pillow top beds that were very uncomfortable for two senior citizens with back problems. The rooms and beds at other Hampton Inns are far superior in comfort and quality. Talking to several of the older guests this morning, they also commented how uncomfortable the beds were. Breakfast this morning was not up to the Hampton Inn standards we are used to. The eggs were barely lukewarm, the pork sausage patties were way undercooked, and the waffle mix was so thick that it was almost impossible to pour. The stuff in the cooler, milk, and yogurts were barely chilled, not cold. Overall, the breakfast experience wasn't exceptable. You shouldn't have to microwave your food in order to enjoy it. The pricing also rates a low C- compared to other Hampton Inns. I guess having the Honors Club doesn't amount to much at this hotel. The manager did adjust our price because of a misunderstanding in relation to the websites online pricing, so that at least was something.
